The BEST DOVE HUNTS IN TEXAS. Our dove hunts in the Texas Panhandle are exceptional, offering a variety of dove species including collared dove (no season), white-winged dove, and mourning dove. Lubbock has thousands of dove that pass through and winter here. With unlimited food for them, they never really seem to leave. Any time of dove season you can expect to get near a limit. Bird counts typically range from 80 to 200, with most skilled hunters reaching their limit of 15. We primarily hunt in sunflower fields, harvested milo and corn fields, and sometimes pencil millet. The Texas Panhandle has become one of the top destinations for dove hunting in Texas. Expect a range of temperatures throughout September, from the 90s and 100s at the start of the month to the 70s and even 50s by the end, so be prepared for anything.
